Web3 has enabled people to participate in a global permissionless financial internet. Your location, age, sex, race etc are rendered irrelevant in this new paradigm — all that matters is your work and reputation which you can also accrete under the identity of cat or a wassie. This has allowed many to choose to work remotely from smaller towns, picturesque locations and in countries with a lower cost of living. Remote work has always existed — that you can do this now without comprising your ability to earn a competitive wage or ownership (via tokens) is new. Web3 visa is the new H1B visa. Over time, this has the potential to make our world more sustainable by reducing the stress we put on our mega cities, while upgrading our own lifestyles and social bonds lost over the years.

For those adventurers who have moved early into this trend, Superteam is sponsoring a deep dive (with pictures) to share with us a day in your life for those curious about what it is like to work in web3.

Evaluation Criteria

Depth

  • Did you explain what you do for work?
  • Did you include pictures and explanations? (Work setup, surroundings, social life etc.)
  • Did you talk about the pros & cons of working remotely?
  • What do you miss about the city life? What do you not miss?
  • To the extent possible, discuss the main lifestyle and financial upsides/downsides to living in a remote location. (Eg., Do you save more/less? Are you more/less stressed?)

Writing Style

  • Did you write a compelling introduction and a satisfying conclusion?
  • Is your writing easy and fun to read?
  • Did you explain concepts in a way a person new to crypto could understand?  

Submission Requirements

  • Did you write your essay in English?
  • No word limit. Be as brief or eloquent as you need to be.
  • Did you submit before the deadline? Note: there will be no deadline extensions.
  • Did you include links to your sources and references?
